10 miles south of Wytheville on Rte 21, turn left on Cripple Creek Rd. Two miles down turn left onto Matney Flats Rd. The road is quite rough for the first mile, it improves after that. The farm is 3.5 miles down on the left.

Beagle Ridge Environmental Education Center is the Premiere Outdoor Classroom in the Blue Ridge. Beagle Ridge provides educational programs for students K-12 as well as a wide range of adult programming. Their classes are correlated to the Virginia SOLs for K-8 and they provide nature based education for the whole family.

Ask about their weekend retreats, scout merit badge programs, birthday parties and specialty workshops. Schedule your next program soon.

They have been gardening and specializing in herbs for two decades. Their mission is to educate the public, in all age ranges, to enjoy all aspects for the outdoors and conserve it for the next generation. Their goal is to teach you to enjoy what nature has to offer.

Their Executive Director, Ellen Reynolds was named the Virginia Project Learning Tree Outstanding Educator for 2006. Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award winning, multi-disciplinary environmental education program for educators and students in Pre-K to grade 12. PLT, a program of the American Forest Foundation, is one of the most widely used environmental education programs in the United States and abroad. PLT continues to set the standard for environmental education excellence.

We are open seasonally, Thursday - Sunday from May - Mid Oct. Weekends only in August. Groups are welcome by appointment any time,.Meals available upon request. Handicapped accessible. We are 3.5 miles off a hard road at the end of the road in a wooded valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
