Jim Grant makes bowls, vases, and vessels from wood found in Floyd, and throughout SWVA.
When he finds a piece of wood, he puts it on a lathe, and asks "what do you want to be?" when the wood speaks to him, he begins his work. If he listened correctly, the finished piece will be beautiful. It is a spiritual as well as creative process.
Jim has been making and selling his beautiful pieces in Floyd for 12 years. He says that moving to Floyd is the best things that has ever happened to him.
