Lesley James Studios Virginia artist Lesley James is best known for her unique portraiture of pets and people. She works primarily in oil on canvas or panel. Her style is best known for its illustrative crispness and striking use of color. Lesley enjoys painting relational subject matter that is cherished by her patrons. She loves to create personalized heirlooms for people which will be handed down with their stories for generations. Lesley has been influenced by many artists, including DaVinci, Norman Rockwell, and Joseph Lorusso. Lesley works in oil on canvas/panel and pastel pencil on paper for portrait work and watercolor/ink on paper for children's book illustrations. Lesley currently lives and works in Abingdon, VA. She grew up in Caruthersville, MO and graduated from Murray State University with a BS in Fine Art and an Area in Sculpture.
Lesley's work is currently on display at the Renaissance Center in Kingsport, TN for the Art Fun Fest Show until July 26.
