Gourds are vessels created by nature. After drying in the fields the cleaning process begins. The gourd is prepared for staining then cut and embellishments may be added. Each piece we create is unique one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork.

Award winning quilter making art quilts and traditional quilts. Sometimes traditional, sometimes adventurous, sometimes phenomenal. Recent works can be found here and online at https://m.facebook.com/MissJeansQuilts/ Additional photos and a few stories can be found at www.CampNana.blogspot.com, be aware that I'm a sometime blogger because I'm an all-the-time quilter. Currently accepting commission work for home, office, and business decor.
I began making art quilts, without formal training. Working with local mentors, I have learned much of traditional quilting. Now I often combine techniques for unique projects. Publications include Dare to Dance, Mary Wilson Kerr; Free Motion Mastery in a Month, Renae Merrill; One Block Wonders of the World, Maxine Rosenthal & Linda Bardes.
I enjoy making quilts for people to snuggle into. After all, quilts are like hugs when you can't be there in person.
I have lived in the beautiful mountains of Floyd County, Virginia for 38 years. I have been Quilting and Sewing for the past 31 years. The last 6 years I been incorporating silk dying and working with wool with my passion of the arts. My scarves are 100% silk and I use several methods to the dying process. I also use acrylic paints in various processes. I am also dying cotton fabrics to use in quilting and sewing. I use wool to create lovely forest people and animals and make their clothing by hand.
