Quilting; Together my mother Faye Thompson and I machine piece our quilt tops. She has a long arm quilting machine that she quilts our quilts on. We also make lap quilts at our church Chilhowie Christian Church for the patients at the cancer center at Johnston Memorial Hospital that are taking treatments. We are members of the Wolf Hills Quilt guild.

Creating handbuilt furniture using mortise and tenon and dovetail joints. Lathe work includes lamp bases, honey dippers, and tops.

Using a coal fired forge for shaping metal in the traditional style. Our focus is on quality with attention to every detail. We create a variety of pieces including fireplace tool sets; dinner triangles; and a variety of hooks.

Charlie and Izetta Fleming are a husband & wife craft team. Charlie loves rocks, one might say ’He has rocks in his head’. He cuts & polishes gem stones and Izetta wirewraps the cut stones in gold & silver. Both fly fish and Izetta hand ties their flies, Charlie does the product testing. Izetta quilts. Her quilts are hand-pieced and hand-quilted. Izetta paints rocks and does storytelling. They participate in craft shows and festivals.

Just Like Old is a woodworking business that specializes in old time craftsmanship in the restoration of antiques and the production of bowls and boxes that retain the integrety of the tree they came from. Custom orders are also taken for furniture or any type of wood merchandise.

My passion: Clay - hand-built, coiled and pinched. My focus: Colorful fish - both realistic and fanciful; face jugs - my style; whimsical animals and my popular Cat Houses - always changing; and Creche Sets. Visitors are welcome in my studio at the Arts Depot in downtown Abingdon during our open hours and by appointment.
