I primarily work on canvas and paper. Because I have been in the business of making art for a long time, my work continues to evolve. I've added digital to my list of mediums. I resisted digital at first, but now I enjoy it. I suppose that nothing will ever replace working in more of a 'hands on medium', however, I recognize advantages of digital.
I classify my work as lyrical. I believe I coined that term, but I won't arm wrestle anyone to prove that. Much of my work is in watercolor, then mixed mediums, then acrylic. I dabble in clay, textiles, and photography.
I have published two books and I have a few private outlets for my literary talents.
I consider myself a fine artist whereby I create art with no other purpose than to create art. That is the definition of a fine artist. I have a BFA and I also hold a graduate degree in art therapy.
Art therapy is a very effective form of therapy. However, far too many make the mistake of believing that it does not require special training. It does. As with anything, beware of amateurs.
We are scheduling a "Porch" Mountain View Preview & Sale tentatively in June. Please RSVP if interested in attending.
A practicing artist forever.
