Jeff Bordwine is a wood carver from Smyth County, Virginia, who creates intricate sculptures of birds and wildlife. Working primarily with woods like tupelo and butternut, Jeff uses precision power carving tools to shape detailed, lifelike forms that celebrate the beauty of the natural world.
Jeff began carving in 2012 and brings to his work a background in machining, having spent 23 years honing his eye for detail and precision. He carves from a dedicated workshop in the basement of his Southwest Virginia home, where he lives with his wife, Robin. They have raised two sons, Adam and Andrew.
Jeff gives all glory and credit for his talent and time to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He believes Jesus made a way for him to pursue this passion and gifted him with the ability to bring natural materials to life.
Through each piece, Jeff strives to reflect the wonder of creation, capturing the spirit of wildlife in wood, one sculpture at a time.
