Morgan Wallace Gilbert is an artist, art educator, and art administrator from Southwest Virginia. She works as the Director of the School of the Arts at Southwest Virginia Community College and teaches classes in Visual Art. Gilbert’s research lies in the changes of Appalachian traditional artmaking in a globalized world. Her artwork reflects this research by using traditional quilts, woven coverlets, and folklore as a starting point for contemporary artmaking.
