I was born and raised in Wythe County and grew up spending most of my time outside, playing sports or drawing. I attended Roanoke College and after 30 years teaching art I retired in 2020. I have recently returned to the Appalachian arts in particular wood working and metal punching. I love exploring all things art.
I love picking up a piece of wood discover what is inside. I create my own blanks for woodturning and cull wood from deadfall on my property or what is donated by friends and neighbors.
