I have always felt an affinity with plants and animals and am drawn to the beautiful lines, shapes and colors of the natural world. I enjoy photographing what I see outdoors and then using these photos as the model for paper collages made of re-purposed paper torn or cut from magazines, old books and calendars. My subjects are animals, trees, fungi, fallen leaves and whatever else I choose to photograph as I walk. These collages celebrate the aesthetic of the natural world.
I also like to collect items that catch my eye, both natural (branches, seed pods, leaves, rocks) and man made (discarded tools, bits of metal, glass and plastic). These items form the basis of my hanging sculptures, mobiles and sun catchers. I will add beads, buttons, vintage jewelry scraps and other decorations until the colors and forms seem in harmony and complete.
Mobiles, suncatchers and hanging ornamentation made from natural materials and/or upcycled metal, plastic or vintage items enhanced with glass or stone beads, buttons and other decoration.
Paper collage depicting realistic native flora, fauna and scenery. Original photographs are used as inspiration. Paper is torn or cut from recycled magazine pages, calendars and greeting cards.
